Environment: ff3 with firebug on windows

I can get it to throw the error on first load or when I clear the cache- though some users complain it happens every time. You should see the error thrown to firebug, and the window will not open fully if you can reproduce it.

Why do you need to use jquery just to swap over tabs? that seems like some serious overkill- besides, the mootools you had been/are using could do that no problem.

I'm encountering the same problem with firefox. At first I thought it was due to my dev set up, but the script (almost) works fine on IE, so it's not a server issue.

However disabling firebug solved the problem, so you might want to do that if you have it installed on your browser.

HTH

I'm getting a new error recently with my share this button. It has been working fine for months, but now I get:

$("#container-2").tabs is not a function

When the iframe tries to open in ff3 (windows, if that matters). The error is on line 16 of lightbox.js.

lightbox.js seems to be using jquery syntax, is this new? I do see the jquery js chunk included (not as a linked file, which means it wont be cached... :( ). Any ideas?

We hide the flash objects to keep them from bleeding through into the widget iframe. They can render ShareThis unusable if they try and occupy the same space.

Ok, I dug into the ShareThis Javascript code and found that for some silly reason ShareThis hides embed tags. I had to add "embeds:true" to the options when creating the button.

What is the purpose of hiding embedded objects? That seems like a really strange default behavior.

Further debugging with Firebug reveals that the "embed" element for the Flash is getting the "visibility: hidden" property when I click the ShareThis link. Is the Javascript for ShareThis doing this? If I change the property with Firebug, the Flash displays just fine along with the ShareThis overlay. What's up?

Hi,

I started using STAPI on a project I'm working on and I noticed that when I click the "share this" button it causes Flash content on the page to disappear (or be obscured?) in Firefox. This doesn't happen in Safari. The ST dialog doesn't actually cover the Flash object at all. In fact, it is not even close. The Flash content does come back when you close the ShareThis dialog.

Is this normal? Can I fix it?

My share this button stopped appearing on FireFox but does appear on IE7. I've attempted to resolve the problem by deleting and reinstalling the plugin via my typepad blog but still no luck. Suggestions?

Unfortunately there is no workaround. ShareThis injects JavaScript in the page in order to scrape the title and content of what you are trying to share.

I use NoScript and it appears, unfortunately, that in order to use either the ShareThis bookmarklet or the ShareThis toolbar for Firefox I have to allow Javascript from the domain I am browsing, and that is not sharethis.com, it is the domain of the page I want to share.

This seems unnecessary. Is there a reasonable workaround for it?
