var element = document.getElementById("share");
object.attachButton(element);

I am using this portion of the code however it links to javascript:void(0) and currently does not work, do I need to change the href value?

At this time I am going to comment out that portion of code, if you need to see a live example please let me know.

Is there a way to customize the text that's displayed rather than "ShareThis" and if there is are there any regulations to requiring the ShareThis name/logo. I'd like to change it on my page to something more along the lines of "ShareThis Plan" with no logo. Is this possible and withing the TOS?

Hi Brian,

Neat site. I love the observations.

If you're using the snippet found in our support section, be sure to use different variable names for each customized share object. This is a common issue that people run into when creating multiple customized buttons on a page. Unfortunately this cannot easily be done within a blog loop.

I used the ShareThis API to set up multiple buttons per page (for different blog posts on an index page) and everything worked fine. Now I have tried using the same API but with a customized button. The first appearance of the button on the page works fine, but all subsequent appearances of the button on the page are lifeless. Is it possible to have multiple customized buttons per page?

Thanks.

I tried this, but mine continues to disappear. In IE, it looks worse as the icon AND "Share this" both get covered with a maroon blob. Any help appreciated.

I'm lost here. What I want to do is hide default ShareThis icon and use my own custom design, but I don't see any obvious method for doing this. I found a link explaining output code here...

http://support.sharethis.com/developers/developers-faq/stapi/62

But as stated, there doesn't seem to be obvious way for nuking the button output either in the plugin code or embedded script. Can someone point me along the path to enlightenment?

Much appreciated.

Is it possible to use a custom icon rather than one of the ShareThis icons? We have a very tight design which requires our own icon - the ShareThis icon really breaks things!

Thanks for any help.

Hi Adam,

Maybe try adding this code to your style.css:

.entry p span a:hover {
color:#000000;
text-decoration:underline;
}

It's not going to match the exact behavior of your other links, but it will be visible.

I have started to use ShareThis on my site (http://awaitinginspiration.com)and so far it's working ok. However, while the sharethis link color is following the style rules set for the site, the hover link color is not. It seems that the hover color is set to white, but so is the background. So, when the link is hovered over, it vanishes. Since there is no option in the customizer to change this and I can't seem to find the option in the plugin code... I was hoping someone here could help?

Thanks,
Adam
