Hi Brian,

Neat site. I love the observations.

If you're using the snippet found in our support section, be sure to use different variable names for each customized share object. This is a common issue that people run into when creating multiple customized buttons on a page. Unfortunately this cannot easily be done within a blog loop.

I used the ShareThis API to set up multiple buttons per page (for different blog posts on an index page) and everything worked fine. Now I have tried using the same API but with a customized button. The first appearance of the button on the page works fine, but all subsequent appearances of the button on the page are lifeless. Is it possible to have multiple customized buttons per page?

Thanks.

Hello,

This looks like a collision between our plugin and your WordPress template. I believe that the unique titles for some of your articles are breaking the .addEntry functions and inherently not displaying a ShareThis button. For example:

<script type="text/javascript">SHARETHIS.addEntry({
title: "Banned Racist Cartoons Show up on YouTube",
url: "http://www.theblackintellectual.com/heartofthecity/2008/04/28/banned-racist-cartoons-show-up-on-youtube/" });</script>

Do you happen to have a plugin that styles the permalinks of your posts?

Hi,

I have looked through the forums on this site and noticed that the ShareThis button will sometimes show up on some post and not others. From what I have found there seems to be a consistent reason for when it does not appear - i.e. an apostrophe in the post title. However, I cannot seem to find out why this is occurring on my blog. There seems not to be any consistently as to when the ShareThis button appears and when it does not. Can someone, anyone, help please????

www.theblackintellectual.com/heartofthecity

Thanks much

Well i know there are a couple of threads with this already, but they just don't work for me, and it seems that the code as changed a bit since then, the problem is that the "Share This" text has a a:hover color of white, and my background is white and this tag "stbuttontext" has no link effect, a:hover or a:visit don't work with it and "stbutton stico_default" has a space in the class so i can't use it as well, what code must i use to change the link color on a:hover , thank you.

Hello, welcome, and thanks for using ShareThis!

The issue you are experiencing is caused by the unique footer in your custom blogger template. The plugin is only designed to work with new Blogger basic templates.

However, you can utilize the ShareThis API (STAPI). For more information on using the STAPI with Blogger see: http://support.sharethis.com/publishers/publishers-faq/blogger/79

For additional information on the STAPI see: http://support.sharethis.com/developers

Hi all, I am a new user, and I just used your widget for Blogger on my site. I have a little problem, though: the button just doesn't appear. Is this an issue with new users only, or is somebody else also having this problem?

I'm lost here. What I want to do is hide default ShareThis icon and use my own custom design, but I don't see any obvious method for doing this. I found a link explaining output code here...

http://support.sharethis.com/developers/developers-faq/stapi/62

But as stated, there doesn't seem to be obvious way for nuking the button output either in the plugin code or embedded script. Can someone point me along the path to enlightenment?

Much appreciated.
